Marijuana Anonymous
A twelve-step fellowship for people recovering from marijuana addiction.
What the fellowship is
Marijuana Anonymous is a fellowship for people who want to stop using cannabis. It addresses the psychological and behavioural side of dependency, which is the side most often waved away.
What members describe
Not a checklist and not a diagnosis — just what people in MA commonly say brought them in.
- Using daily, and finding ordinary tasks harder without it
- Attempts to stop or cut down that did not hold
- Using to get around responsibility, stress or feeling
- Motivation, memory and momentum quietly declining
- Irritability or sleeplessness when going without
Your first meeting
MA exists partly because the rest of the world tells people this cannot be a real problem. In an MA room it is taken seriously without argument, which for most newcomers is the useful part.
Where 12Gradus fits
12Gradus is software for the sponsor, not a substitute for one and not part of any fellowship. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by Marijuana Anonymous.
A sponsee's profile records that they are in Marijuana Anonymous and dates their clean time from their last use. Daily check-ins, a self-reported urge score, high-risk days noted beside the chart, a rough-moment button that reaches the sponsor immediately, secure chat and a text bridge all work the same in every programme.
The step work is the part that does not. The built-in library is written for Gamblers Anonymous. A sponsor in MA assigns their own materials instead — which works, and is what sponsors have always done, but it is not the same as having MA's own step work in the app.
