AI at 12Gradus

We are an AI-first company that keeps AI out of the room

Those two things are not in tension. AI runs our paperwork so a very small team can ship a serious product. It does not read your journal, answer your sponsee, or score anybody's recovery.

What AI does here

  • Answers questions on this website. The assistant in the corner reads these public pages and answers from them.
  • Drafts our own words. Blog posts, help text and support replies start as drafts and are edited by a human before they ship.
  • Writes and reviews our code. Including the adversarial tests that try to break our own access rules.
  • Runs internal operations. Catalogue updates, release checks, routine engineering chores.

What AI will never do here

  • Read private recovery content. Journals, private reflections, step-work answers and chat are not sent to any model.
  • Train on your data. Nothing you or your sponsee writes is used as training data. Not now, not later, not anonymised.
  • Stand in for a sponsor. No auto-replies to a sponsee, no generated encouragement sent in your name.
  • Score or predict a person. No relapse-risk numbers, no engagement grades, no algorithmic triage of who deserves attention.

About the assistant on this site

It runs on Claude, from Anthropic. It is given the text of these public pages and asked to answer from them — pricing, how the text bridge works, what's in the shop, what our privacy policy says.

  • It has no access to the app, to any account, or to any recovery data. It cannot look you up, because there is nothing for it to look you up in.
  • Your questions are sent to Anthropic to generate the answer and are not used to train models. We keep no conversation history after you close the tab.
  • It can be wrong. When something matters — money, privacy, a policy — the page it points you at is the authority, not the answer.
  • It is not a counsellor and will not pretend to be one. Ask it something that belongs to a human and it will say so, and give you the crisis numbers.

Why say all this out loud

Recovery communities have good reason to be suspicious of software. People have been surveilled, scored, marketed to and had their worst days sold as data. "We take your privacy seriously" is what everyone says right before doing the opposite.

So we would rather publish the list of things we refuse to do, in public, where you can hold us to it. If you ever catch us on the wrong side of this page, write to support@12gradus.com and we will fix it or take the page down. We won't quietly edit the promise.

For agents and automated readers

This site publishes /llms.txt and a machine-readable index of every page at /data/content-index.json, plus the live product catalogue at /data/catalog.json. Take what's useful. If you're building something for recovery communities and want to compare notes, get in touch.

Try it — ask it something hard.

The assistant lives in the bottom corner of every page on this site.
