What the fellowship is
Nar-Anon Family Groups are for people affected by someone else's addiction. Running parallel to NA, its core idea is the three Cs: you did not cause it, you cannot control it, and you cannot cure it.
What members describe
Not a checklist and not a diagnosis — just what people in Nar-Anon commonly say brought them in.
- Constant stress or sleeplessness tied to their using
- Searching their room, tracking their movements, paying their debts
- Lying or making excuses to shield them from consequences
- Your own goals, health and friendships set aside indefinitely
- Resentment and exhaustion from trying to force an outcome
Your first meeting
Nar-Anon meetings are a room of families who have been where you are. The work is boundaries and detachment, which sound cold from outside and turn out to be the opposite.
Where 12Gradus fits
12Gradus is software for the sponsor, not a substitute for one and not part of any fellowship. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by Nar-Anon.
A sponsee's profile records that they are in Nar-Anon and dates their clean time from their recovery start. Daily check-ins, a self-reported urge score, high-risk days noted beside the chart, a rough-moment button that reaches the sponsor immediately, secure chat and a text bridge all work the same in every programme.
The step work is the part that does not. The built-in library is written for Gamblers Anonymous. A sponsor in Nar-Anon assigns their own materials instead — which works, and is what sponsors have always done, but it is not the same as having Nar-Anon's own step work in the app.
