Cocaine Anonymous
A twelve-step fellowship for people recovering from cocaine and other mind-altering substances.
What the fellowship is
Cocaine Anonymous is for anyone who wants to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances. It is modelled closely on AA, and its meetings often read CA literature alongside the Big Book.
What members describe
Not a checklist and not a diagnosis — just what people in CA commonly say brought them in.
- Using compulsively while genuinely wanting to stop
- Money gone in amounts that are hard to account for
- Hard crashes afterwards — paranoia, depression, exhaustion
- Substituting alcohol or another drug and finding the problem simply moved
- Work, family and basic self-care coming second to using
Your first meeting
CA rooms tend to be direct and warm at the same time. The people in them have come off the same drug and are living without it, which is the piece that is hard to believe from the outside.
Where 12Gradus fits
12Gradus is software for the sponsor, not a substitute for one and not part of any fellowship. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by Cocaine Anonymous.
A sponsee's profile records that they are in Cocaine Anonymous and dates their clean time from their last use. Daily check-ins, a self-reported urge score, high-risk days noted beside the chart, a rough-moment button that reaches the sponsor immediately, secure chat and a text bridge all work the same in every programme.
The step work is the part that does not. The built-in library is written for Gamblers Anonymous. A sponsor in CA assigns their own materials instead — which works, and is what sponsors have always done, but it is not the same as having CA's own step work in the app.
