Co-Anon

A twelve-step fellowship for families and friends of people addicted to cocaine.

What the fellowship is

Co-Anon is for the family members, partners and friends of someone using cocaine. It applies twelve-step principles to the secondary damage — the vigilance, the money, the boundaries that eroded a little at a time.

What members describe

Not a checklist and not a diagnosis — just what people in Co-Anon commonly say brought them in.

  • Sleeplessness and financial fear driven by somebody else's use
  • Monitoring their money, their phone, their appearance for signs
  • Paying debts, posting bail or lying to their employer
  • A repeating cycle of hope and the next crash
  • Friendships and family contact quietly let go

Your first meeting

You will not have to explain the shape of it. Everyone in the room has been on the same cycle, which means you can skip the part where you justify why this is hard and get straight to what to do about it.

Where 12Gradus fits

12Gradus is software for the sponsor, not a substitute for one and not part of any fellowship. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by Co-Anon.

A sponsee's profile records that they are in Co-Anon and dates their clean time from their recovery start. Daily check-ins, a self-reported urge score, high-risk days noted beside the chart, a rough-moment button that reaches the sponsor immediately, secure chat and a text bridge all work the same in every programme.

The step work is the part that does not. The built-in library is written for Gamblers Anonymous. A sponsor in Co-Anon assigns their own materials instead — which works, and is what sponsors have always done, but it is not the same as having Co-Anon's own step work in the app.
