Survivors of Incest Anonymous
A twelve-step fellowship for survivors of incest and childhood sexual abuse.
What the fellowship is
Survivors of Incest Anonymous is a twelve-step fellowship of survivors of childhood sexual abuse. It is survivor-led, and exists for the long aftermath rather than for the events themselves.
What members describe
Not a checklist and not a diagnosis — just what people in SIA commonly say brought them in.
- Carrying the aftermath of childhood abuse with nowhere safe to put it
- Anxiety, flashbacks, or a sense of worthlessness that predates anything current
- Difficulty with trust, safety or boundaries in adult relationships
- Shame and self-blame that belong to somebody else
- Wanting a gentle, survivor-led room rather than a clinical one
Your first meeting
SIA meetings are built around safety, and members share their recovery without graphic detail of the abuse — deliberately, so that being in the room is not itself harmful. If you are working with a therapist, SIA sits alongside that rather than replacing it.
Where 12Gradus fits
12Gradus is software for the sponsor, not a substitute for one and not part of any fellowship. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by Survivors of Incest Anonymous.
A sponsee's profile records that they are in Survivors of Incest Anonymous and dates their clean time from their recovery start. Daily check-ins, a self-reported urge score, high-risk days noted beside the chart, a rough-moment button that reaches the sponsor immediately, secure chat and a text bridge all work the same in every programme.
The step work is the part that does not. The built-in library is written for Gamblers Anonymous. A sponsor in SIA assigns their own materials instead — which works, and is what sponsors have always done, but it is not the same as having SIA's own step work in the app.
