Nicotine Anonymous

A twelve-step fellowship for people recovering from nicotine addiction.

What the fellowship is

Nicotine Anonymous is a fellowship of people helping each other live free of nicotine, in all its forms — cigarettes, vapes, pouches and chew.

What members describe

Not a checklist and not a diagnosis — just what people in NicA commonly say brought them in.

  • Using compulsively, with quitting repeatedly out of reach
  • Irritability, anxiety or cravings within hours of going without
  • Several serious attempts to quit already behind you
  • Continuing despite health consequences that are already showing
  • A day shaped around when the next one can happen

Your first meeting

NicA is patient with early quitters, and unbothered by the fact that nicotine is legal and ordinary. Meetings deal in cravings, habit loops and the specific triggers that undo people in week two.

Where 12Gradus fits

12Gradus is software for the sponsor, not a substitute for one and not part of any fellowship. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by Nicotine Anonymous.

A sponsee's profile records that they are in Nicotine Anonymous and dates their clean time from their last cigarette. Daily check-ins, a self-reported urge score, high-risk days noted beside the chart, a rough-moment button that reaches the sponsor immediately, secure chat and a text bridge all work the same in every programme.

The step work is the part that does not. The built-in library is written for Gamblers Anonymous. A sponsor in NicA assigns their own materials instead — which works, and is what sponsors have always done, but it is not the same as having NicA's own step work in the app.
